PPC Crowns First 2024 Winner in Action-Packed Season Opener

We had two full tables in action at the Pinnacle Poker Club’s season-opening event, as 16 players (including 5 of last year’s regular-season winners) vied for the title of 2024 Unlimited Re-Entry Champion. Despite the unlimited re-entry format, and the shorter-than-usual starting stacks, we saw only three players bust early, and only one of them chose to re-enter. In the end, two players recorded their best PPC finish, two of last season’s league leaders made early exits, and Lauren took down her first win since 2022.

2023 Main Event Champion and Player of the Year Crowned!

House Whittaker’s final poker event of the 2023 season was action-packed as always. The day kicked off with the three-handed tie-breaker event between James, Kasra, and Chris to decide the 2023 Player of the Year, before the presentation of four other season awards. With the season awards out of the way, 13 players began their quest for the title of Main Event Champion. The field was stacked with five previous tournament winners and four season award recipients, but few of those players made deep runs in the Main Event. Instead, the tournament was dominated from the beginning by two clutch players who saved their best PPC finishes for this event.

Event Details: November 11 Main Event Championship and Party

Hi, everyone! We are just over three weeks away from our final poker game of 2023 (see poster for details). As a reminder, this one will be all for fun and bragging rights — no cash buy-in or prize. And it won’t be all about the poker; there will be plenty of food and fun for the whole family!

If you haven’t done so already, it would be very helpful if you could RSVP using the link in this post or the QR code in the flyer— especially those of you who plan to bring kids — so that we can make sure to have food and age-appropriate activities available for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks!

Save the date: Main Event Championship Tournament and Party on November 11

Hello, fellow poker players! Please save the date for our Main Event Championship Tournament and Party, which will take place on November 11. Exact time and details will be provided shortly, but for now, plan for the festivities to begin around 11:00 a.m. with lunch, some activities for the whole family, and a presentation of season awards, to be followed by the Main Event tournament, which should end by about 5:00 p.m. In addition to the poker action, there will be food, drinks, and other entertainment, including cheering on #5 USC in what should be a pivotal game against #10 Oregon.

Please fill out our quick survey to let us know how many players, non-players, and kids will be attending. This will allow us to order enough food for everyone, set up the right number of poker tables, and ensure that we have appropriate fun planned for the whole family. Please RSVP, even if you cannot make it (in that case, its just a two-question survey).

2023 WSOP: Did Chris Rebound From His Disappointing 2022 World Series Performance?

I played in three events in the 2023 World Series of Poker, looking to ride the momentum from my 15th place finish at a WSOP Circuit event in March. After months of study, practice, and preparation, I was looking to put the 2022 WSOP memories behind me. Did I succeed?
