2025 Friends & Family Tournament Series Structure

Welcome to The Pinnacle Poker Club’s third annual Friends & Family Tournament Series! Below are details about the tournaments, the scoring, and the awards that we are all playing for.

  1. We will play 5 regular-season events. The date and time of each event, along with final details about the format of the event, will be announced a couple of weeks in advance. The general schedule is outlined below and tentative dates are listed above:
    1. Event #1 (Late January): Second Annual Season Opener – Unlimited Re-Entry Championship
    2. Event #2 (Late March): Spring Survivor Championship
    3. Event #3 (Late May): Second Annual Tag-Team Championship
    4. Event #4 (Late July): Second Annual Summer Deepstack Championship
    5. Event #5 (September): The Final Battle For Position
  2. The entry fee for Events 1, 3 and 5 will be $20. The entry fee for Event 2 will be $25. The entry fee for Event 4 will be $40.
  3. For Events 1 and 5, players will earn points according to the following schedule:
    1. One point for playing in an event.
    2. One additional point for each table that the player outlasts. For example, in a three-table tournament (between 15 and 21 players), the top 14 finishers will earn one extra point (total of two), and the top 7 finishers will earn two extra points (total of three).
    3. Additional points for cashing in, and winning, an event will be awarded according to the following schedule:
Places paid1st place 2nd place 3rd place 4th place 5th place 6th place 7th place
23 points1 point
36 points3 points1 point
410 points6 points3 points1 point
515 points10 points6 points3 points1 point
621 points15 points10 points6 points3 points1 point
728 points21 points15 points10 points6 points3 points1 point
  1. For Event 2, points will be awarded in the same manner as for Event 1, except that (a) all players who place in the top 25% will receive a number of points equal to the total number of players divided by 4 (rounded down), (b), the player who ends the tournament with the most chips will receive one additional point, and  (c) the last player eliminated before the top 25% will receive one additional point.
  2. For Event 3, points will be awarded to each member of the team, based on the final finish of the team, in the same manner as for Event 1, but at 150% the rate.
  3. For Event 4, points will be awarded in the same manner as for Event 1, but at double the rate.
  4. The player with the most points at the end of the regular season will be named the Player of the Year. Ties for Player of the Year will be broken with a final freeroll tournament among the players tied for first place.
  5. The Main Event Championship will be held in October or November. There will be no cash buy-in; players will be competing solely for bragging rights and an award. Each entrant into the Main Event will receive a minimum of 25,000 chips to start the tournament, plus 1,000 additional chips for each POY point earned during the season.
