A look back at 2023 and a preview of what’s to come in 2024
The Pinnacle Poker Club’s inaugural Friends and Family Tournament Series is in the books, and Season 2 is just around the corner! We thank all of you who participated this year and helped to make it so much fun for us. When we first started hosting sporadic poker games with our family back in 2019, we had no idea that those games would grow into a thriving group of dozens of people joining us regularly for some friendly competition.
It has been an absolute pleasure to share my enthusiasm for poker with all of you, and I truly appreciate all of you for making it possible. But even more enjoyable for us has been watching our family, work friends, church friends, neighbors, and other important people in our lives gather for fellowship in our home several times each year.
2023 Season in Review
Before we look forward to launching our second season, we’d like to take a look back at the fun we had this year. And since I am a numbers guy, I thought I’d summarize that fun with a few statistics:
- 26 different players participated in at least one tournament this year, and our average player participated in 4 tournaments.
- Our total participation for the series was nearly 100 players, and our average field was 14 players.
- 20 different players walked away with money in at least one event.
- 7 different players won a tournament.
- 6 different players received season awards.
- We awarded $2,055 in prize money, with an average prize pool of about $340 per event.
Looking forward to 2024 and the launch of Pinnacle.Poker
Now, as we look forward to next season, taking into account the feedback shared by those of you who responded to our survey, we are pleased to announce the formal launch of Pinnacle.Poker. At the new online home for for the Pinnacle Poker Club, you can now:

The Pinnacle Poker Club’s second annual tournament series begins with the Unlimited Re-Entry Championship Event on Saturday, January 27, at 6:30 p.m. This year’s series will include 6 regular-season events featuring several new formats for the PPC, including a tag-team event, a shootout event, and an all-bounty event. As in Season 1, the series will conclude with a Main Event Championship Freeroll in which players’ starting stacks will be determined, in part, by their performance during the regular season. So brush up on those poker skills and join us on January 27 to start racking up those points for Player of the Year (click here to register).
We hope to see you all at the tables next month. Until then, the Whittakers hope that you all enjoy a Merry Christmas and an exciting start to the year.
