About This Event
It’s time to pay tribute to the most exciting two minutes in sports! Just like the racers in the Derby, you’ll get only one shot to run your race. No re-entries! Whether they are a favorite or a long shot, the winner of this event will have to navigate the field without the benefit of a restart.
We’ll encourage fun hats, serve good food, and run some exciting side betting contests to see who knows our field best (and, let’s be honest, who will simply get lucky).
Doors open at 6:30, and the first hand will be dealt at 7:00. Come for the cards, stay for the food, and show off your derby hats while you’re at it.
Promotions & Special Extras
- Early RSVP bonus: RSVP online by May 4 and you’ll get 500 bonus chips for your starting stack.
- Rookie Welcome bonus: First-time PPC players get a little extra love (and a 1,000 extra chips).
- Side betting prize pool: A portion of the entry fees will be set aside to pay out some side bets. So, even the first player out could win a piece of the prize pool if they place a good win-place-show bet.

We provide cheat sheets, hand rankings, and guidance to make sure you feel comfortable from the first deal. Plus, Chris is great at teaching people enough to get them comfortable quickly and coaching them along the way.
Just bring yourself (and your entry fee, unless you pre-paid digitally). We provide the food, drinks, and professional setup. It’s a hassle-free night out.
The tournaments are designed to run 3.5-4 hours (including breaks), typically wrapping up by 11 PM.
