2024 Friends & Family Tournament Series Structure
Welcome to The Pinnacle Poker Club’s second annual Friends & Family Tournament Series! Below are details about the tournaments, the scoring, and the awards that we are all playing for.
- We will play 6 regular-season events. The date and time of each event, along with final details about the format of the event, will be announced a couple of weeks in advance. The general schedule is outlined below and tentative dates are listed above:
- Event #1 (Mid-January): Season Opener – Unlimited Re-Entry Championship
- Event #2 (Late February): Perfect Match – Tag-Team Championship
- Event #3 (Early April): Spring Showdown at the Pinnacle Poker Club – Shootout Championship
- Event #4 (May/June): Summer Deepstack Championship
- Event #5 (July): Dance of Dragons – All-Bounty Championship
- Event #6 (September): The Final Countdown – Race Against the Clock (ends after Level 10)
- The entry fee for Events 1, 2, 4, and 6 will be $20. The entry fee for Events 3 and 5 will be $40.
- For Event 1, players will earn points according to the following schedule:
- One point for playing in an event.
- One additional point for each table that the player outlasts. For example, in a three-table tournament (between 17 and 24 players), the top 16 finishers will earn one extra point (total of two), and the top 8 finishers will earn two extra points (total of three). [For 9-player events, with all players beginning at the same table, the “final table” for points purposes will still be considered the top 8 finishers.]
- Additional points for cashing in, and winning, an event will be awarded according to the following schedule:
Places paid | 1st place | 2nd place | 3rd place | 4th place | 5th place | 6th place | 7th place |
2 | 3 points | 1 point | |||||
3 | 6 points | 3 points | 1 point
4 | 10 points | 6 points | 3 points | 1 point
5 | 15 points | 10 points | 6 points | 3 points | 1 point
6 | 21 points | 15 points | 10 points | 6 points | 3 points | 1 point
7 | 28 points | 21 points | 15 points | 10 points | 6 points | 3 points | 1 point |
- For Event 2, points will be awarded in the same manner as for Event 1, but at 150% the rate.
- For Event 3, players will earn points according to the following schedule:
- Two points for playing.
- One point for every other player who busts before the player at his or her initial table.
- One point for making the final table, plus points for final finish as follows:
Places paid | 1st place | 2nd place | 3rd place | 4th place |
2 | 6 points | 2 points | ||
3 | 12 points | 6 points | 2 points
4 | 20 points | 12 points | 6 points | 2 points |
- For Event 4, points will be awarded in the same manner as for Event 1, but at double the rate.
- For Event 5, players will earn one point for playing and two points for each bounty they collect.
- For Event 6, each player who still has chips at the end of Level 10 will receive 1 POY point for every 5,000 chips.
- The player with the most points at the end of the regular season will be named the Player of the Year. Ties for Player of the Year will be broken with a final freeroll tournament among the players tied for first place.
- The Main Event Championship will be held in October. There will be no cash buy-in; players will be competing solely for bragging rights and an award. Each entrant into the Main Event will receive a minimum of 25,000 chips to start the tournament, plus 1,000 additional chips for each POY point earned during the season.
